Megan Megan received her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Arts Degrees in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and is licensed through the State of California Speech Pathology and Audiology Boards. Additionally she is Hanen Certified and trained in the Kaufman Speech Praxis Program. She also has significant supervision experience with speech pathology interns, clinical fellows and speech pathology assistants.
Megan has conducted research in therapeutic intervention services for low-incidence language populations which she presented at the California Speech and Hearing Association annual conference. Following her research, she was involved in the creation of a training program for paraprofessionals in regards to their role in the assessment of speech and language disorders. Currently, she is in the process of data collection for a research project regarding effectiveness of hierarchal treatment program for children diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech. Megan occasionally presents as a guest lecturer to local university students with focused studies in child development and communication disorders. She has also begun to provide group parent and professional trainings regarding speech & language development and disorders in children.
When Megan first became a speech pathologist, she spent 5 years working with public school children through a headstart program, a severely handicapped school, and with special education and typical classroom elementary and Jr. High aged students. This experience assisted her in providing advocacy services for parents receiving speech and language intervention through the public school system. Megan started Lucid Speech & Language Clinic Inc. years ago from her kitchen table and has developed it into a much larger practice over the years. She enjoys working with all different types of childhood speech and language disorders inclusive of genetic syndromes, paralysis, apraxia, cerebral palsy, autism, and development delays. Currently Megan provides direct intervention services to some of the more medically involved patients in the clinic as well as provided evaluations to new patients.
